Plasterer - Effective from August 12, 2025

The examination is 3 hours long. It consists of 60 questions and each question is worth 1 point. The required passing grade is 60%. The materials supplied for your use during the examination are: a calculator, a paper sheet, a pencil and an eraser. No other material or reference document is allowed during the examination.

Skill Content on Which Questions May Be Based

Section 1 -  Finishing drywall joints (50%)

  • Protecting the work environment
  • Estimating the quantity of materials needed to complete the job
  • Installing mouldings and other trims
  • Joint compound coat application and proper sanding
  • Identifying the possible causes of any problems
  • Fixing installation problems and repairing damage
  • Appropriate selection and use of products, tools and accessories

Section 2 -  Installing acrylic systems and applying cement parging (30%)

Acrylic systems:

  • Preparing the surface depending on the type of substrate installed
  • Installing mouldings and other trims
  • Applying initial coatings
  • Appropriate selection and use of products, tools and accessories

Parging:

  • Preparing and repairing the surface
  • Applying cement parging 
  • Parging curing
  • Appropriate selection and use of products, tools and accessories

Section 3 -  Performing specialized work (20 %)

  • Glazing a concrete surface
  • Restoring a traditional plaster surface and old ornaments
  • Installing pre-fabricated mouldings and ornaments
  • Making mouldings on site (mouldings pressed against the wall)
  • Making and using a template
  • Application of gypsum render and textured "popcorn" finishes
  • Appropriate selection and use of products, tools and accessories
