Previous union Dues Rates

The previous method for calculating union dues rates can be viewed below. The union associations may modify their union dues rates twice a year.

  • CSD Construction

    Rates in force from January 1, 2023 to December 30, 2023

    50% of hourly rate per week. In addition, the employer must deduct $0.035 per hour worked.

    The contribution for 1st year apprentices will be $11.50 per week.

    Rates in force from June 27, 2004 to December 31, 2022

    50% of hourly rate per week. In addition, the employer must deduct $0.055 per hour worked.

  • Conseil provincial du Québec des métiers de la construction (International)

    Local 71 - United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada

    Rates in force from June 29, 2014 to June 25, 2016.

    Dues: $31 per month. These dues will be deducted from employees’ pay by the employer in the first week worked of each month. In addition, the employer shall deduct, each week, $0.60 for each hour worked. 

    Local 89 - International Union of Elevator Constructors

    Rates in force from December 31, 2017 to December 29, 2018.

    Dues: 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year apprentices, 3% of the worker’s hourly rate for all hours paid. 4th year, 5th year apprentices and journeymen, 3% of the mechanic’s hourly rate for all hours paid. With a minimum of $12 per week (including the $0.01 per hour for CPQMC – Internationale). The dues of 3% apply to the normal wage rate or the wage rate increased by 50 or 100% when hours are worked at the overtime rate.

    Rates in force from June 30, 2002 to December 30, 2017.

    Dues: 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year apprentices, 2.5% of the worker’s hourly rate for all hours paid. 4th year, 5th year apprentices and journeymen, 2.5% of the mechanic’s hourly rate for all hours paid. With a minimum of $12 per week (including the $0.01 per hour for CPQMC – Internationale). The dues of 2.5% apply to the normal wage rate or the wage rate increased by 50 or 100% when hours are worked at the overtime rate.

    Local 96 – International Union of Elevator Constructors (Hull)

    Rates in force from July 1, 2018 to June 25, 2022.

    Dues: $1.62 per hour worked with a minimum of $63.60 per week. For overtime hours, a contribution of $2.43 per hour is deducted for time-and-a-half and a $3.24 per hour for double time. 

    Rates in force from June 25, 2017 to June 30, 2018.

    Dues: $1.59 per hour worked with a minimum of $63.60 per week. For overtime hours, dues of $2.39 per hour are deducted for time-and-a-half and $3.18 per hour for double-time.

    Rates in force from June 26, 2016 to June 24, 2017.

    Dues: $1.30 per hour worked with a minimum of $52.00 per week. For overtime hours, a contribution of $1.95 per hour is deducted for time-and-a-half and $2.60 per hour for double-time.

    Rates in force from June 29, 2014 to June 25, 2016.

    Dues: $1.24 per hour worked with a minimum of $49.60 per week. For overtime hours, a contribution of $1.86 per hour is deducted for time-and-a-half and $2.48 per hour for double-time.

    Local 101 - International Union of Elevator Constructors (Charlesbourg)

    Rates in force from December 26, 2010 to December 31, 2016.

    Dues: 100% of one hour’s work, per week, based on the journeyman’s basic hourly wage rate or on the time-and-a-half or double-time wage rate for overtime hours.

    Local 134 - United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America

    Rates in force from December 30, 2007 to December 28, 2019.

    Dues: 50% of one hour worked per week or part of week, calculated on the hourly rate of the journeyman or apprentice, as the case may be, plus $0.13 for each hour worked for all carpenter-joiners, resilient flooring layers, piling layers, and flooring specialist sanders.

    Local 160 - United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America

    Rates in force from December 30, 2007 to December 28, 2019.

    Dues: 50% of one hour worked per week or part of week, calculated on the hourly rate of the journeyman or apprentice, as the case may be, plus $0.13 for each hour worked for all carpenter-joiners, resilient flooring layers, piling layers, and flooring specialist sanders.

    Local 271 - International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, forgers, and Helpers

    Rates in force from July 1, 2007 to December 28, 2019.

    Dues: 4.5% of the hourly wage paid for each hour worked, with a maximum of 40 hours per week. In addition, each week the employer will deduct $0.03 for each hour worked. These dues will be deducted by employers from employees’ pay each week. For the purposes of union dues, employers must not include in the hourly wage premiums and travel costs.

    Local 349 - Syndicat international des peintres et métiers connexes

    Rates in force from June 25, 2017 to December 25, 2021.

    Dues: 50% of the hourly wage rate per week or part of week worked, calculated on the hourly wage of the journeyman or apprentice, as applicable.

    Rates in force from January 1, 2017 to June 24, 2017.

    Dues: 55% of the hourly wage per week plus $0.15 per hour worked, calculated on the wage rate of the journeyman or the apprentice, as applicable.

    Rates in force from June 30, 2013 to December 31, 2016.

    Dues: $35 per month for journeymen and $30 for apprentices. The employer will deduct this contribution from employees’ pay in the first week or part of the week worked of each month. In addition, each week the employer will deduct $0.15 for each hour

    Local 380 - Resilient flooring layers of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBCJA)

    Rates in force from December 30, 2007 to December 28, 2019.

    Dues: 50% of hour worked per week or part of week based on the hourly rate of the journeyman or apprentice, as the case may be, plus $0.13 for each hour worked for all resilient flooring layers.

    Local 500 - United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting industry of the United States and Canada

    Rates in force from December 29, 2013 to December 31, 2016.

    Dues: 90% of hourly wage rate per week or part of week worked. The employer must also deduct every week $0.08 per hour worked.

    Local 568 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Montréal)

    Rates in force from January 1, 2013 to December 30, 2023

    For journeyman electricians and linesmen, 75% of one hour worked per week or part of the week, calculated on the hourly rate of a journeyman electrician, as defined in Annex B of the collective agreement in the industrial sector, as well as $0.05 for each hour worked.

    For apprentice electricians: 50% of one hour worked per week or part of the week, calculated on the hourly rate of a journeyman electrician, as defined in Annex B of the collective agreement in the industrial sector, as well as $0.05 per hour worked.

    Local 711 - International Association of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers

    Rates in force from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2022.

    Dues: 3% of the base hourly wage for each hour worked. These dues will be deducted by the employer from employees’ pay each week. For the purpose of union dues, the employer must not include premiums and travel costs in calculation of the wage.

    Rates in force from June 27, 1999 to December 31, 2016.

    Dues: Structural steel erectors, ornamental iron workers, reinforcing steel erectors, riggers, welders, and apprentices: $25.00 per month, deducted from the wages of the employees the first week worked each month. In addition, the employer must deduct $0.75 per hour worked each week. The employer must also deduct $0.03 per hour worked each week.

    Local 761 - United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBCJA)

    Rates in force from to December, 30 2007 to December 28, 2019

    Dues: 50% of one hour worked per week or part of week, calculated on the hourly rate of the journeyman or apprentice, as the case may be, plus $0.13 for each hour worked for all carpenter-joiners, resilient flooring layers, piling layers, and flooring specialist sanders.

    Local 929 - Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association

    Rates in force from December 28, 2019 to June 24, 2023.

    Dues: 28% of hourly wage rate deducted by the employer each week or part of the week worked, plus $0.035 per hour worked.

    Rates in force from December 29, 2013 to December 28, 2019.

    30% of hourly wage rate deducted by the employer for every week or part of week worked, plus $0.035 per hour worked.

    Local 1135 - Syndicat international des peintres et métiers connexes

    Rates in force from April 30, 2017 to December 29, 2018.

    Dues: 60% of hourly wage rate per week or part of week worked, calculated on the basis of the hourly rate of the journeyman or apprentice, as the case may be.

    Rates in force from January 1, 2017 to April 29, 2017.

    Dues: 70% of hourly wage rate per week or part of week worked, calculated on the basis of the hourly rate of the journeyman or apprentice, as the case may be.

    Rates in force from December 29, 2002 to December 31, 2016

    Dues: 60% of hourly wage rate per week or part of week worked, calculated on the basis of the hourly rate of the journeyman or apprentice, as the case may be.

    Local 1604 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers – Alarm Systems and Signalling Sector

    Rates in force from December 29, 2019 to December 31, 2022.

    Dues: Each month: $20. Each month: 1% of gross salary and $0.045 per hour worked per month.

    Rates in force from January 1, 2017 to December 28, 2019.

    Dues: Each month: $19. Each week: 1% of gross wages and $0.045 per hour worked.

    Local 1929 - Syndicat international des peintres et métiers connexes

    Rates in force from January 1, 2017 to June 24, 2017.

    Dues: 55% of the hourly wage per week plus $0.15 per hour worked, calculated on the wage rate of the journeyman or the apprentice, as applicable.

    Rates in force from June 30, 2013 to December 31, 2016.

    Dues: $35 per month for journeymen and $30 for apprentices. The employer will deduct this contribution from employees’ pay in the first week or part of the week worked of each month. In addition, each week the employer will deduct $0.15 for each hour worked.

     
  • CSN-Construction

    Rates in force from December 29, 1996 to December 28, 2019.

    50% of hourly rate per week. In addition, the employer must deduct $0.065 per hour worked. 

  • Fédération des travailleurs du Québec (FTQ-Construction)

    Local 3 - Association nationale des travailleurs en réfrigération, climatisation et protection-incendie

    Rates in force from December 27, 2015 to June 26, 2021

    Dues: For all members, 45% of the journeyman’s hourly wage (in compliance with schedules B and B-1 of the collective agreement for the industrial sector) per week or part of week.

    Local 99 - Association nationale des peintres et métiers connexes

    Rates in force from January 1, 2014 to June 25, 20122.

    Dues: $37 per month for all journeymen painters, and $32 for apprentice painters. These dues are to be deducted by the employer from every worker’s pay on the first week or part of week worked of every month. The employer must also deduct every week $0.12 per hour worked.

    Local 135 - Monteurs mécaniciens vitriers

    Rates in force from December 29, 2002 to June 25, 2016.

    Dues: 60% of hourly wage rate per week or part of week worked, calculated on the basis of the hourly rate of the journeyman or apprentice, as the case may be.

    Local 618 - Association nationale des travailleurs en tuyauterie et calorifugeurs

    Rates in force from December 28, 2014 to December 31, 2016.

    Dues: 75% of the hourly wage rate for each week or part of a week. These dues are deducted by the employer from the workers’ weekly salaries. In addition, the employer must deduct $0.055 for each hour worked every week.

    Local 777 - Fraternité nationale des poseurs d’acier d’armature

    Rates in force from June 28, 2015 to June 27, 2020

    Dues: 50% of the journeyman or apprentice hourly wage rate, as applicable, for each week or part of the week, plus $0.15 for each hour worked. These dues are deducted at source by the employer each week from the employees’ pay.

    Local AMAQ - Association des métiers de l’acier du Québec

    Rates in force from June 28, 2015 to June 27, 2020

    Dues: 50% of the journeyman or apprentice hourly wage rate, as applicable, for each week or part of the week, plus $0.15 for each hour worked. These dues are deducted at source by the employer each week from the employees’ pay.

  • Syndicat québécois de la construction (SQC)

    Rates in force from December 29, 2019 to June 25, 2022

    $12.70 per week for journeymen and occupation workers and $10.10 for apprentices.

    Rates in force from July 1, 2018 to December 28, 2019

    $12.35 per week for journey persons and persons practising an occupation and $10.10 for apprentices.

    Rates in force from June 25, 2017 to June 30, 2017.

    $12 per week for journeymen and occupation workers and $9.75 for apprentices.

    Rates in force from December 27, 2015 to June 24, 2017.

    $11.65 per week for the journeymen and the workers practicing an occupation and $9.40 per week for the apprentices.
