Statistical portrait of women in the industry

The CCQ is pleased to announce the release today of its statistical portrait of women in the construction industry for the year 2022. The purpose of the document is to present the key indicators of women’s career paths and to support the objectives of the actions of the Programme d’accès et à l’égalité des femmes dans l’industrie de la construction (PAEF – Women’s Access and Equality Program in the Construction Industry). 

More and more women at job sites

A record 7,200 women worked on job sites in 2022, an increase of nearly 970 over 2021. They represented 3.65% of the total workforce. Over 9% of new entrants to the industry in 2022 were women, with over 1,900 women launching their construction careers. 

The year’s highlights include 4,300 companies hiring at least one woman, and an increase in the average number of hours worked by women across all occupational statuses.
