Current research projects on inclusion in the construction industry : be part of the solution!

In its efforts to promote inclusion in the construction industry, the CCQ works with various partners on research projects to gather information in the field.

Would you like to share your reality by taking part in one of the two research projects in progress? Your involvement will help find solutions for renewing the workforce in times of labour shortages while fostering worker retention.

Read summaries of the two ongoing projects below and find out how you can get involved.

Research on the inclusion of FNI in the construction industry

Have you ever hired or are you interested in hiring immigrants (people born abroad) in the construction industry?

Whether you are a business owner, manager or human resources person (involved in hiring immigrants), we encourage you to complete a survey to take part in a research project whose goal is to better understand the inclusion of immigrants in the construction industry. If you wish, you may also participate in focus groups or individual interviews on the subject. Click here for more information (in French only) or to participate!

This research is being carried out by the Centre de recherche et de partage des savoirs InterActions du CIUSSS du Nord-de-l'Île-de-Montréal.

Note that this project’s researchers are also seeking workers with an immigrant background who wish to share their own experiences via a survey or interviews.

Pilot project to foster inclusive diversity and social innovation practices to address discrimination, bullying and harassment (DBH) in the construction industry

Are you a company or site manager who would like to have a say in this pilot project? We encourage you to take part in an individual or group interview. Questions will focus on the challenges and issues faced by underrepresented groups (women, people with disabilities, immigrants, First Nations and Inuit, racial minorities, etc.) in the construction industry, practices that support the inclusion of diversity, social innovation and healthy work environments, as well as the roles of stakeholders.

If you are interested, contact Katherine Robitaille at [email protected].

The project is carried out by the team at Institut EDI2 under the leadership of Sophie Brière, full professor in the Department of Management at Université Laval’s Faculty of Business Administration.
