Starting January 2020, MÉDIC Construction will be available on all digital devices!

Starting on January 6, MÉDIC Construction will be offering something new: the MÉDIC Construction online electronic system for healthcare and dental insurance claims.

The industry’s insureds will have access to a range of new services related to the claim process for their insurance plan. From their tablet, their computer, or even their cell phone (thanks to the brand-new MÉDIC Construction mobile application), workers and retirees in the industry will be able to:

  • Submit their claims
  • Simulate a claim
  • Find a healthcare provider
  • View their claim history
  • Transmit information concerning their dependents (not available on the mobile app).

To use the new services, insureds must register for the CCQ’s online services at sel.ccq.org. For faster reimbursements, registration for direct deposit, also in the online services, is strongly recommended.

Presenting the new MÉDIC CARD, paper or mobile version

Starting December 20, insureds for the period from January 1 to June 30, 2020, will begin to receive by mail a brand-new MÉDIC Construction card with a single identification number. The old card will no longer be valid after December 31, 2019, so they will have to present this new card to their pharmacist, dentist, and other healthcare professionals at their first visit

As of January, thanks to the MÉDIC Construction mobile application, insureds will also be able to display the digital version of the card on their cell phone and present it directly to their providers.

No more mail!

Many of our insureds wait for the holiday period to submit their claims. They take advantage of this quiet time to fill out forms, attach receipts and documentation, and send everything to the CCQ by mail.

But that’s all in the past! As of January 2020, insureds will be able to submit their claims online.

Note that eligible claims from 2019 may also be submitted online. Receipts and documentation must be kept for 12 months after claims are submitted for verification purposes.

The promotion campaign surrounding the launch of MÉDIC online is being conducted in coordination with the industry’s employer and union associations.
