The Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) is launching a new advertising campaign to highlight the presence of women on construction sites.
A construction challenge that makes you think
In line with the new slogan “Les mentalités évoluent, les chantiers aussi” (Attitudes are changing, and so are construction sites), a video capsule features children facing a construction challenge. As they build a birdhouse together, Rosalie, Mathéo, Ines, and Noah show that each one contributes a way of thinking and doing things that makes the work better. The children’s unscripted, unprejudiced dialogue is full of sensitivity and humour, and they show the value of the idea of having women on construction sites.
The video is available in its entirety at mixite.ccq.org. It will be available on Facebook and everywhere on the Web in coming weeks.
Objective: 3% women on construction sites
The CCQ, with all of the partners in the construction industry, is deploying the Programme d’accès à l’égalité pour les femmes dans l’industrie de la construction. The objective is to have 3% of the workforce on construction sites be women in 2018. Currently, they represent 1.6% of the workforce.
