Statistical Portrait of Women in the Industry

Today, the CCQ is revealing the statistical portrait of women in the construction industry in 2021. The portrait presents the main indicators of women’s progress in construction careers.

The year 2021 marks the achievement of the target of the Programme d’accès à l’égalité des femmes dans l’industrie de la construction (PAEF, Program for Women’s Equal Access to the Construction Industry) 2015–2024, with more than 3% of working women. This resulted in 6,220 female workers in the construction industry, representing 3.27% of the total workforce. This is an increase of 1,375 from 2020, a historic gain. Nearly 15% of companies hire at least one woman.
