The order forbidding an illegal strike by crane operators becomes permanent
The Tribunal administratif du travail has made permanent the order that it issued as a temporary measure on June 21, 2018, to end the strike and work slowdowns by crane operators.

In short, this means that it will no longer be possible to undertake an illegal strike or work slowdowns to contest the regulatory modifications that affect the trade of crane operator.

Individuals who choose to defy this order will be liable to be found in contempt of the tribunal. These individuals may face fines that could be as high as $50,000, and even a prison term.

The union associations targeted by the order must communicate it to their members in coming days to remind them of their obligations.
