Reminder – full restoration of services as of September 8

In recent days we have been to ensure that we can securely restore our systems and services. We are therefore planning to re-establish all online services and telephone services starting on Tuesday, September 8.

We are aware that the prolonged shutting down of services had an impact on our clienteles. We are doing everything possible to facilitate the restoration and to offer optimal service. We are planning to have extra staff members to respond directly to the clientele on the phone and to ensure processing of online requests and applications. For all the details related to restoration of services: Update on the situation – Full restoration of services (in French only).

Personal information

Our analysis has advanced and we can now give more details on the scope of personal information compromised during the cyberattack. We now have confirmation that certain of our clients’ and employees’ information was stolen.

The protection measures offered through Equifax that we announced are also currently being deployed.

Under these measures, the CCQ will offer, free of charge, via Equifax:

  • A credit monitoring service
  • Monitoring of the dark web
  • Alerts in case of unusual activity
  • Specialized guidance in case of fraud or identity theft
  • Identity-theft insurance of up to $1 million.

Next steps

In coming days, the individuals affected will be contacted directly with all the information they need concerning these protection measures and the steps to take.

We will contact you by email or mail, depending on the contact information we have. You do not need to do anything right now.

Clients who have questions or concerns will be able to contact the CCQ starting on Tuesday, March 8, when all of our services will be restored, through our Customer Service. It will not be possible to give you confirmation of compromised personal information by phone. Please refer to the email or letter that you will receive in writing for these details.

Support and guidance

Everyone affected will receive support and guidance from the CCQ. We understand that you may find this situation disturbing and that you may have questions and concerns.

We thank our clienteles and our employees for their comprehension. We will continue to communicate with you as new information is confirmed.
