On this Québec Week for People with Disabilities, the Commission de la construction du Québec is publishing the 2026 update to its Action Plan for People with Disabilities (APPD), an initiative that reflects its commitment to an inclusive and equitable workplace within its organization and in the industry.
This plan, as we know, aims to reduce the obstacles faced by people with disabilities by focusing on four key areas:
- Area 1: Inclusion and training of the CCQ’s staff
- Area 2: Accessibility to offices and buildings
- Area 3: Accessibility to products and services offered
- Area 4: Accessibility to the construction industry
The APPD’s 2025 report, presented as an annex to the new plan, demonstrates the amplitude of the actions concretely taken by the CCQ. Among other things, different teams have had awareness raising, an overall accessibility audit for the offices has been performed, and new measures for access to the industry have been deployed.
To find out all the details, you can now consult the 2026 update to and the 2025 report on the Action Plan for People with Disabilities 2025-2027.
We would like to underscore, as well, that this year marks a milestone: the Québec Week for People with Disabilities, organized by the Office des personnes handicapées du Québec (OPHQ), is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary of commitment, awareness raising, and community mobilization, in order to build a more inclusive society in which the social participation of people with disabilities is fully recognized and valued.
