Your employer number: The best protection for your company’s file

Since January 1, 2016, the CCQ has been asking employers to use their CCQ employer number as the identifier for Customer Services to access their file.

Why? Because this number makes it possible to better protect your company’s confidential information.

Why use your employer number
In 2015, when an employer or the person responsible registered in the employer’s file contacted the CCQ’s Customer Services to obtain information or services, it was possible for that person to identify himself or herself by answering two authentication questions and supplying one of the following:

  • The CCQ  employer number
  • The Régie du bâtiment du Québec  licence number
  • The Québec Business Number (NEQ)

Because the Régie du bâtiment du Québec licence number and the Québec Business Number are public information and easy to access, a confidentiality issue persisted – a situation that the CCQ has now corrected.

Where to find your employer number

Your employer number is found at various places:

  • On the welcome letter that you received when you first registered with the CCQ as a new company
  • On most pieces of correspondence that the CCQ sends your company
  • As the user number for the CCQ online services (er000000)

Please note that the two supplementary authentication questions regarding your company will be maintained to obtain secure access to your file.

Always have your employer number with you: a practical tool!
Last December, the CCQ sent you a practical information sheet for 2016. A detachable section is provided on which you can write your employer number, so you can always have it with you. Why not use it!

If you can’t find your employer number

You can securely access your file by telephone through Customer Services by answering three authentication questions regarding your company.
