An action plan for people with disabilities

April 28, 2015

You can now read the new Plan d’action à l’égard des personnes handicapées (action plan for people with disabilities), adopted on April 8 by the CCQ’s board of directors. The action plan complies with the Act to Secure Handicapped Persons in the Exercise of Their Rights with a View to Achieving Social, School and Workplace Integration.

In general terms, the CCQ’s action plan for people with disabilities aims to promote a society that is more inclusive and respectful of the needs of people with disabilities and their families. It is addressed to people with mobility, vision, and auditory challenges and people with intellectual disabilities. More specifically, the measures set out in the action plan are aimed at:

  • The industry’s workers and employers
  • The industry’s annuitants
  • Individuals seeking information on the industry or on our services
  • The CCQ’s employees

Among the actions introduced in the 2015 action plan, the CCQ intends to train and raise awareness among its staff in contact with the clientele, improve accessibility to the CCQ’s premises and offices, facilitate access to employment, and make adapted documentation available. The CCQ will also perform a first analysis of obstacles encountered by its clientele in terms of access to adapted services.
