Trade Jurisdiction Dispute Resolution Committee

When a dispute over trade jurisdictions arises among different trades, specialties, or occupations, the parties concerned may resolve it themselves.

In the industrial, institutional and commercial, and civil engineering and roadwork sectors, trade jurisdiction disputes may also be resolved through a Trade Jurisdiction Dispute Resolution Committee, as set out in the collective agreements for these sectors. The CCQ is responsible for supervising and supporting this dispute-resolution process in a speedy manner in order to avoid work stoppages on construction sites.

In addition, under section 21 of Act R-20, any interested party may address the Tribunal administratif du travail directly to have a trade jurisdiction dispute resolved or to ask for the decision by a Trade Jurisdiction Dispute Resolution Committee to be reviewed.
