Conditions and terms for issuance and renewal of the water system worker certificate

As of the beginning of 2013, the note certification Manœuvre à l’aqueduc will be indicated on all valid OCCs (if applicable) and there will no longer be an expiry date for water system worker (P6c) certification as long as the worker holds a valid OCC.

However, this note will not appear on the competency certificates of holders of apprentice or journeyman competency (or exemption) certificates, even if these workers hold valid water system worker certification previously issued by Emploi-Québec. Holders of these types of certificates must keep their certification issued by Emploi-Québec until it expires. After the expiry, they will not be able to renew their certification unless they meet the criteria for issuance of an OCC.

Workers who do work related to water systems must always have proof of this certification in their possession and present it, upon demand, to a person of authority from the Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MDDELCC) or to a CCQ representative. The Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) will respect the expiry of certifications previously issued by Emploi-Québec.

To find out about the conditions and terms for renewal of a certificate for Water System Worker other than P6c, please consult the Emploi-Québec Web site.
