Participation by Managers

A manager is a person employed by a professional employer but who is neither an administrator nor the designated representative. For example, superintendants, site foremen, and other representatives of the employer fall into this category.

Managers may participate in the insurance and pension plans:

  • If they have previously participated in the social benefits plans as employees;

AND

  • If the amounts in their construction industry pension file have not been completely paid back (if they have been completely paid back, a manager may not participate).

The voluntary contributions that enable managers to participate are paid via the monthly reports submitted to the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ). The Reference Guide for Completing the Employer’s Monthly Report shows how the contributions must be made.

If a person is not paid on an hourly basis, the number of hours worked declared per week for social benefits may not exceed 60.
