Welcome

Ornamental iron workers & structural steel erectors

The regulatory change that came into effect on July 18, 2013, affects the trades of ornamental iron worker and structural steel erector. Workers in these two trades are now ironworkers.

The consolidation of these two trades has an impact on holders of an apprentice competency certificate (ACC) or a journeyman competency certificate (JCC) in either of these two trades. The impact varies depending on the number of hours worked and registered with the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ).

This regulatory change also applies to candidates who have not yet obtained their ACC in either of these trades (ornamental iron worker or structural steel erector) but wish to practise one of them.
